Zone de Texte: A REVIEW ON GEOMATIC TOOLS FOR ASSESSING, INVENTORYING AND MAPPING ALIEN PLANT INVASIONS IN THE MEDITERRANEAN BASIN
Zone de Texte: Data collection methods for geomatic applications may follow two main operational logics, i.e. vector and raster, but also mixed-methods are available.
Georeferencing historical herbarium samples is a common method for importing this informations in data-bases and GIS systems, or for other types of analysis and the methodology to follow is not trivial at all. Some important information (e.g. naturalisation) may be lacking or incorrect, spatial resolution and sampling intensity are not always possible to reconstruct. Standard metadata should be refined (Stuckey, 1980; Reznicek & Catling, 1987; Pyšek, 1991; Pyšek & Prach, 1993, 1995; Catling & Porebski, 1995; Weber, 1998; Lambrinos, 2001; Mihulka & Pyšek, 2001).
