EPPO in collaboration with the Ukrainian Plant Quarantine Research Station (UkrNDSKR) is organizing the 'European phytosanitary Conference on potato and other arable crops'. It will take place at Chernovtsy from the 7th to the 9th of October 2008. The Conference will mainly focus on phytosanitary problems of potato crops.

- Presentation of EPPO standards on potato (including the recently adopted standard 'General crop inspection procedure for potatoes')
- Synchytrium endobioticum (potato wart disease): biology, longevity of sporangia, soil tests, de-scheduling of infested plots, pathotype nomenclature, pathotype identification
- Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus (potato ring rot): contingency planning, control measures, monitoring
- Globodera and Meloidogyne species: control measures in case of establishment and sampling procedures
- Emerging pests of Solanaceae (e.g. PSTVd on ornamental Solanaceae, Meloidogyne minor)
Registration
A registration fee of 100,00 EUR (to be paid in cash at the registration to the Conference) will be requested from each participant to cover transport expenses, meeting rooms, coffee-breaks, technical visit and printing expenses.
