ICPM Working Group on the glossary of phytosanitary terms

This was the fifth meeting of this standing subsidiary body of the ICPM. Points considered in particular included:

1. terms related to re-export and transit
2. difficulties arising from the use of the words 'actions' and 'measures' in the IPPC
3. consistency in use of French words in terms and definitions
4. the need for 'agreed interpretation' in some terms defined in the IPPC which already appeared to need revision.

The group was glad to celebrate the 50th birthday of Reinouw Baast-Tjerde in all due Dutch ceremony for that important anniversary.
