NAPPO International Symposium on Pest Risk Analysis

The NAPPO International Symposium on Pest Risk Analysis took place in Puerto Vallarta, state of Jalisco, Mexico. It was attended by approximately 80 participants from 25 countries, with of course a strong participation from North America, but also from Central and South America. Others participants included the IPPC Secretariat, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and, from Europe, the Netherlands, Norway, UK and the EPPO Secretariat.
A special session was dedicated to global developments on PRA and to environmental risk analysis. Methods and developments in quantitative analysis were presented (spatial analysis, probabilistic risk assessment, multivariate techniques). US, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Australia, New Zealand and UK had the opportunity to present their PRA systems through examples. Finally, a talk on risk communication was given.
Proceedings will be prepared by NAPPO in the coming months.
