The International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures on "Regulated Non-Quarantine Pests: concept and application" (ISPM N°16) was adopted at the Interim Commission for Phytosanitary Measures (ICPM) in April 2002, and the ICPM included in its programme of activities for 2002-2003, the development of a standard on risk analysis for regulated non-quarantine pests.
An IPPC working group met in Wageningen (Netherlands) on 2003-02-10/14 to develop a draft standard on Pest Risk Analysis for Regulated Non-Quarantine Pests. The Dutch Plant Protection Service acted as a local organizer. Starting from the existing structure of ISPM N°11 on PRA for quarantine pests, on ISPM N°16 and other relevant ISPMs, a standard was drafted and will be considered at the next meeting of the Standards Committee.
A visit to a Company producing Anthurium plants was organized by the Dutch Plant Protection Service.
